The method to my madness?

I dump the pound o' beads into a plastic shoe box container.
I work out of the container on my lap.
And store them stacked with the lid on the top container.
The most important thing ... only make them in the day time.

What is Rexlace®?
Rexlace
This is Rexlace®. It's plastic, flat and 1/8" wide.
(Shown in 100 yard rolls)
You can use cord, 1/8" ribbon, hemp,  rattail or
monofilament (fishing line) in place of Rexlace®.

J & P Coats® Crochet Nylon

It's 100% Nylon crochet thread ... almost 1/8" round.
(Shown in 150 yard roll in black)

To prevent the thread from fraying when cutting ...
Roll the thread onto a piece of tape (at the point where you want to cut)...
Roll it tight ... cut in the middle
Now you have an aglet ... like a needle to thread the beads
Use Dritz® Fray Check to finish the beadie

Make it stick ...
Plate
OK ... this is how I work out my too hard to think in the head patterns.
I do not draw ... I place the beads on tape.
It's masking tape with the ends turned under onto a paper plate.
Why paper? ... It's flexible.
I use a needlepoint needle to pick up the row of beads and set it down on the tape.
Yes ... I have been using the same paper plate since the first doll.
Hey ... it still sticks.
*May 17, 1999 ... I had to use the paper plate to kill a spider.
I'm OK ... the plate is NOT.
I have a new paper plate now.
